About the Author

James Lingard – educated at Dulwich College and University College London – was a leading City of London solicitor with a lifelong interest in history who specialised in banking law and insolvency law as a partner in Norton Rose. He wrote Lingard’s Bank Security Documents (LexisNexis Butterworths) now in its 7th edition; numerous articles and gave many lectures.

Since his retirement, he has written:

Britain at War 1939 to 1945 a concise history of the war;
The Girl Who Disappeared a fact based 20th century historical romance with rave reviews;
The Caucasus Cauldron an action packed thriller set in the Caucasus Mountains during Georgia’s ill-fated invasion of Abkhazia in 1992. and
Trapped in Iran an action adventure thriller about Israelis in the 1979 Iranian revolution.
