About the Author

Allen Kurtz is a former teacher and small business owner who had to retire after suffering a stroke following the death of their parents. They found solace in writing down their memories and family stories, which gave birth to their first book. The book, titled “Grandpa’s Money,” revolves around the mystery of a bankrupt steel plant pension that resulted in the loss of pension for hundreds of hardworking union men, including the author’s grandpa.

Determined to uncover the truth behind the disappearance of the union pension, the author followed the money trail from St. Louis to Chicago, Detroit, New York, New Jersey, Phoenix, and finally, Las Vegas. They researched personal accounts of workers across the USA and discovered how others conspired to create and then destroy the American Dream of the Middle Class.

Eventually, the author and their spouse started a business and retrieved Grandpa’s Money.
