Depression sucks. Most of us know this, it’s not news. What might be news to many of us though, is the idea that Depression doesn’t have to be something you need to get rid of, in other words, something you need to recover from. In fact, in many cases, a full recovery from Depression is simply not possible.

It’s like Herpes. Once you’ve got it, it’s always going to be there. Lurking in the background. Like a bad smell.

Isn’t it a much better idea to use your Depression? Use it as a muse to create something beautiful like art, literature, or even a doily for the kitchen table?

Or as the author refers to it: Turn the demon Depression into a Creature of F&*king Beauty.

Fiona Tate is an author, AI artist and Depression Muse. She lives with her husband and furbabies in a housebus in New Zealand. She has a BA in Psychology and over twenty years experience working with people who are experiencing mental illness. She has had a lifelong love of words which she is now turning into a full time career.
