Ana just got her life back on track. She can’t risk losing it again. Ana is struggling to rebuild her life after escaping an abusive relationship. Living in her brother’s attic, Ana stays under the radar by working and studying. No parties, no friends, just a platonic relationship with one professor who helps her study. After all, her past mistakes caused harm both to herself and those she loves. And she’d determined to keep that from happening again.

But Ana doesn’t expect her high school crush, Marlon, coming back into town, messing up her plans. Ana tries to ignore him, but when the professor stops tutoring her, the only person she can turn to is Marlon. Yes, he’s handsome, but he’d never be interested in someone like her. Especially not if he knew her full story.

Just months before college graduation a friend passes away, her brother’s livelihood is threatened, and Ana’s secrets unravel, threatening her future.

The truth will hurt her family and the man she loves, but Ana is determined to make up for her past. Even if it means sacrificing her dreams of love and a future.

In “Coffee Stains,” journey with Ana through a tale of love and forgiveness.. Rediscover the beauty of unconditional love and the hope that can spring from the ashes of past mistakes.

Love, like coffee, can leave unexpected marks on our lives. “Coffee Stains” by Kat Caldwell brews up a poignant story of second chances and the courage it takes to open your heart after it’s been shattered.

Ana’s journey from survivor to thriver is beautifully crafted, painting a realistic picture of the long road to healing after abuse. Caldwell doesn’t shy away from the complexities of trauma recovery, showing us a protagonist who’s cautious, determined, and achingly human in her desire to protect herself and those she loves.

The reappearance of Marlon, Ana’s high school crush, adds a bittersweet note to this blend. It’s refreshing to see a romance that doesn’t magically erase past hurts but instead challenges the characters to grow and trust again. The slow-burn potential here is palpable, promising a love story that’s earned rather than given.

What really sets “Coffee Stains” apart is its focus on forgiveness – not just of others, but of oneself. Ana’s struggle to reconcile her past mistakes with her desire for a future is something many readers will relate to. It’s a powerful reminder that our pasts don’t define us, but they do shape us.

The inclusion of external conflicts – a friend’s passing, her brother’s struggles – adds depth to the story, showing how personal growth doesn’t happen in a vacuum. These challenges force Ana to confront her fears and secrets, leading to what promises to be a cathartic and emotional climax.

“Coffee Stains” sounds like a deeply moving exploration of love, resilience, and the messy, beautiful process of rebuilding a life. If you’re in the mood for a romance that doesn’t gloss over life’s complexities but still leaves you with hope in your heart, this indie gem might just be your perfect cup of joe.

☕ Healing hearts & second chances brew in this emotional rollercoaster. A love story that proves even the darkest stains can fade with time and care. Grab the tissues! 💕 #SecondChanceRomance #HealingJourney #IndieReads

About the Author

Kat Caldwell, a native of Wisconsin, has always held dear memories of her early childhood spent outdoors. However, due to her struggle with asthma, she often found herself confined indoors, where she sought solace in the pages of books. From a very young age, she began writing, primarily focusing on ‘fan fiction’ of the books she had just read, though at the time she was unaware of the term. Throughout her middle and high school years, Kat continued to nurture her passion for writing. Despite this, she felt the pressure from those around her to pursue a ‘real job’ or obtain a ‘real degree’. Instead, she embarked on travels while attempting to complete a degree in linguistics, which, apart from learning new languages, she never really put to use. Following her termination during the economic crisis of 2008, Kat resolved to reignite her childhood dream of becoming a writer. After experimenting with blogging and contributing to online publications, and raising three lively daughters, she authored multiple books, which she is now able to publish through her own company, Ladwell Publishing. As she navigates the ever-changing landscape of the publishing industry, Kat is delighted to play a significant role in this exciting era.
