Officer Maddie Conley has suffered her fair share of bad luck. After years of trying to earn the respect of their police chief, she and her partner Jay land the biggest case of their careers. But, unfortunately, they know how much this unusual case will impact their lives.
To help with the case, Detective Alex Stone is called in from the NYPD. Unfortunately, his over-confident and controlling attitude doesn’t initially mesh well with Maddie’s personality. But as time goes on, they choose to put their differences aside for the sake of the case. Once the negativity was gone, it made room for their true feelings for each other to emerge.
But Alex has a dark past that follows him everywhere. The last thing he wants to do is expose Maddie to it and endanger her. Yet no matter how hard he tries to prevent it, she becomes involved in his tangled web of lies and deception.
